Cathy Stacy

Biography

Cathy Stacy joined the Oden Institute in 2024. As Executive Deputy Director, she provides support for faculty hiring and other Institute strategic initiatives. Cathy began her career at UT Austin in 1997 in the College of Natural Sciences where she helped develop and launch undergraduate programs that have been replicated nationally. Over the last 25 years, she has contributed broadly to the academic mission of the university through curriculum innovation, program development, administrative leadership and as the PI of an externally-funded interdisciplinary initiative. Cathy has served in leadership roles in the College of Natural Sciences, the Dell Medical School, and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost.

Cathy grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attend the University of Notre Dame. Before moving to Texas, she taught as an international volunteer in the Pacific. Cathy has a doctorate in educational psychology from UT Austin and has been recognized for excellence in teaching.
