NIMS Graduate Fellowship
Originally from Canada, Calista grew up in Mississauga before moving to Toronto for her undergraduate studies. She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science with a major in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto. During her degree, she completed a co-op at the National Research Council Canada as a Research Assistant, working on Helicopter Structures and Full-Scale Aircraft Testing—an experience that solidified her passion for research. She went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University, where her work focused on applying hyperreduction techniques to reduced-order models for aerodynamic simulations. Now a CSEM Ph.D. student at the Oden Institute, her research interests include reduced-order modeling, computational fluid dynamics, and scientific machine learning.
