Dr. Chanhyun Park is a health outcomes researcher and Assistant Professor in the Health Outcomes Division at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She is also an Affiliated Faculty member at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, where she engages in interdisciplinary research and collaborations. Dr. Park received her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. She went on to earn a second master’s degree in Quantitative Methods from The University of Texas at Austin College of Education and a Ph.D. in Health Outcomes Research from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. After completing her doctoral training, she worked as a Health Economist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and as an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Park’s research focuses on assessing the clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes of medications and healthcare interventions using advanced quantitative methodologies, including pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, meta-analysis, and machine learning. Her work examines medication utilization patterns and adherence, adverse events associated with medications, and healthcare utilization and costs, with a particular emphasis on advancing health equity. Currently, her research program centers on cardio-oncology, exploring the intersection of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes, while developing machine learning-based prediction models to improve patient outcomes.
