Biography
Bobbie comes from humble roots in southern China and loved math as a kid. He came to the U.S. for his graduate study at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and received his Ph.D. in Applied and Interdisciplinary Mathematics and Scientific Computing in 2019. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, cooking, and listening to podcasts.
Bobbie is interested in numerical analysis and computing in general. He works on Integral Equation Methods which have broad applications in potential theory, fluid mechanics, acoustic and electromagnetic scattering, and many other scientific and engineering areas. He develops fast and accurate numerical algorithms to solve integral equation problems.
