Weiwei Gao

Postdoctoral Fellow Center for Computational Materials

Biography

In 2011 Weiwei got his Bachelor of science degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. He then came to the United States to pursue his PhD degree of Physics at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He researched as a graduate student with Prof. Peihong Zhang between 2012 - 2017. After obtaining his  PhD degree, he joined Prof. James Chelikowsky's group as a postdoctoral researcher, working on computational methods for first-principles calculations of materials.  Weiwei got his Ph.D in The State University of New York at Buffalo. He started working as a postdoc in Dr. Chelikowsky's group in May 2017.

Weiwei's research interests include computational methods for first principles calculation of excited-states properties, predicting and understanding material properties with state-of-arts computational methods, and high performance computing algorithms.
