Research Fellow Computational Research in Ice and Ocean Systems Group
Nora Loose is a postdoc in the Computational Research in Ice and Ocean group (CRIOS) at UT Austin. She has a master's degree in mathematics and obtained her Ph.D. in physical oceanography at the University of Bergen, Norway, in 2019.
Nora's research combines ocean observations and models to understand the ocean’s circulation and impact on climate. She applies techniques from the computational sciences in order to quantify uncertainties in ocean state estimates and gain new insights into how to improve the global ocean observing system. Currently, her main research focus is on the subpolar North Atlantic, the Nordic Seas, and the Arctic Ocean.
