Mr. McBane holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a master’s degree in computational science, engineering, and mathematics (CSEM) from UT Austin. He works in the Willcox Research Group as a graduate research assistant and is a student in the CSEM PhD program. His research includes component-wise reduced order modeling for topology optimization and multifidelity topology optimization under uncertainty. Additional interests include PDE-constrained optimization, data assimilation, and innovations in programming for high-performance computing systems.
