Peter O'Donnell, Jr. Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Engineering and Sciences
Postdoctoral Fellow Center for Computational Geosciences and Optimization
In Stefan's work as a research scientist at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, he is applying computational science and the methods of applied mathematics to tackle large-scale real-world problems. In academic research, his principal interests lie in high performance computing (parallel algorithms and architecture) and the analysis and implementation of numerical methods for solving linear and nonlinear systems of PDEs. His current PhD research focuses on applications in acoustic and electromagnetic wave propagation, and nonlinear fiber optics in particular. However, he is always interested in collaborating across disciplines and exploring other areas in computational science, applied mathematics, and related fields.
