The Oden Institute has joined the University of Texas at Austin's annual fundraising event, 40 Hours for the Forty Acres. Now in its ninth year, "40 For Forty" has raised millions of philanthropic dolllars for the university needed to fund a variety of initiaitives, from scholarships and state-of-the-art facilities to hands-on learning opportunities for students across campus. This will be the first year the Oden Institute has participated in the event that lasts from 6 a.m. on September 22nd through 10 p.m. on September 23rd. Everyone in the UT Austin community is encouraged to give to the UT people, places and programs that are meaningful to them. For 40 hours, students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends come together as a community and show their support. "This 40 For Forty, support our mission to provide an inclusive, interdisciplinary environment, enabling outstanding research, high-impact collaborations, and advancing graduate education in the field of computational engineering and sciences,” said Karen Willcox, Director of the Oden Institute.
