Zoom Meeting
This talk presents an integration of quantitative imaging data, specifically magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), with mathematical models of tumor growth and angiogenesis to provide tools for predicting the response of triple negative breast cancers to neoadjuvant therapy on a patient-specific basis. We will discuss the derivation of the mathematical models, how these are informed from MRI, some preliminary results, and key drawbacks and limitations of these approaches from experimental, biological, and computational points of view.
Caleb Phillips is a 3rd year Ph.D. student working with Dr. Thomas Yankeelov on modeling tumor angiogenesis at the microvascular and tissue scales. He is immensely interested in translating mathematical modeling research into the clinic and hospital setting. He enjoys watching the Mandalorian with his wife, Janelle, and reading the Chronicles of Narnia.
