Sue Rodriguez Wins University Staff Award

Sue Rodriguez earned a 2019 Outstanding Staff Award for her "outstanding dedication, competence, conscientious performance, excellent customer service, or ingenuity (which) has had a significant impact on the university."

Outstanding Staff Award Recipients must also contribute to and demonstrate a commitment to the university's core purpose and values; have significantly improved customer service or increased customer satisfaction for specific university customers; have significantly improved a work process or system or have significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or unit; have demonstrated an exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication, and cooperation among colleagues and university constituents; or, have performed at a level above and beyond normal job requirements.

Her faculty supervisors nominated her for the award.

"Sue takes dedication, professionalism, hard work, conscientiousness, efficiency, thoroughness, caring, and good cheer to unequaled levels," said Oden Institute Professor Omar Ghattas. "Sue is gifted in her ability to not just solve problems, but to anticipate them before they become problems. (She) is one-of-a-kind, a real gem, and a key to the success of not one, but three ICES research centers."
